Dietary Recommendations:
- Chicken Broth (1 cup) cook with Oatmeal: Hydrating and nourishing for Yin.
- Cooked Oatmeal (0.4 oz) (10% whole grain): Moistens and supports digestion.
- Cucumber or Zucchini (lightly steamed) (0.8 oz) (20% vegetables): Cooling and hydrating.
- Boiled Duck (3 oz) (70% lean protein): A cooling protein that nourishes Yin.
Portion Size For Dogs:
- Small Dogs (<20 lbs): Daily Amount: ½ to 1 cup of food (wet or home cooked food equivalent).
- Medium Dogs (20–50 lbs): Daily Amount: 1.5 to 2.5 cups of food (wet or home cooked food equivalent).
- Large Dogs (>50 lbs): Daily Amount: 3 to 4.5 cups of food (wet or home cooked food equivalent).
Portion Size For Cats:
- Small Cats (<5 lbs): Daily Amount: 1/4 to 1/2 cup of food (wet or home cooked food equivalent).
- Medium Cats (5–10 lbs): Daily Amount: 1/2 to 3/4 cup of food (wet or home cooked food equivalent).
- Large Cats (>10 lbs): Daily Amount: 3/4 to 1 cup of food (wet or home cooked food equivalent).
Suggestion:
- Including Pet's Hard, Dry Stools in the food to nourish Yin. Once stools normalize, transition to the Pet's Firm and Well-Formed Stools for ongoing support.
- Feed at consistent times each day to support digestive health.
- Avoid feeding just before intense exercise to prevent bloating or discomfort.
- Balance Temperature in Food: Avoid overly cold or raw foods, and dairy especially for dogs or cats with weak digestion. Cooked meals are often better.
- Portion Control: Overfeeding can lead to food stagnation and digestive issues.
- Hydration: Provide clean, fresh water at all times, especially with dry or warming foods.
- Bone broth can be added to meals for hydration and to enhance palatability.
- Observe: Monitor changes in stool after diet or herbal adjustments.
