Symptoms

Different individuals may experience different symptoms, including:

• The facial muscles on one side appear asymmetrical or even paralyzed
• The eyes cannot close completely
• Muscle weakness and loss of elasticity on the affected area
• Pain on the cheek or ear
• Difficulty talking, eating and swallowing 
• ⅔ of the taste in the tongue is diminished
• Cannot completely frown, close the eyes, or whistle
