Diet & Prevention

Eat light, balanced meals that are easy to digest.  Drink plenty of water. It is best to avoid eating raw or uncooked foods like salad and sushi; spicy or heavily seasoned foods like salsa or barbeque; and greasy foods like cheese or french fries.  No chocolate, mango, pineapple, cherry, coconut meat, and eggs. Avoid vitamin supplements, fish without scales and fins (shellfish), and yang/heat-inducing foods like lamb and beef.  No spicy foods. No smoking, alcohol, and coffee. Oily and fatty foods like cheese create Dampness. Spicy foods perpetuate Heat. Alcohol makes both Heat and Dampness more severe.
